Have you ever wondered how many t-shirts are in your closet right now? A few t-shirts in your closet may be plain, but a few other t-shirts will have pictures or texts that show your character. Still looking for the perfect t-shirt?

If so, how about making my own? If I really want a t-shirt, there's a good chance others will want it too.

Why Start a T-Shirt Business?

Making custom t-shirts and selling them online can be fun and even make money as a side job. The t-shirt business generated $26 billion in revenue in 2018 alone, and this t-shirt industry is expected to grow by 2027. Since no one doesn't buy a t-shirt, once you start this t-shirt business, you can see virtually endless sales.

So where to start this t-shirt business? The fastest way to expand your business and create your own t-shirts is to print on demand.

What is print-on-demand?

On-demand printing is a kind of drop shipping method that allows you to create and sell custom T-shirts online without the cumbersome tasks of inventory management, order processing, and delivery.

A print-on-demand service like Printful or Printify lets you choose a t-shirt, customize it with your own design, and sell it on your online store. Many of these services even provide a Mockup Generator feature that shows you what your design will actually look like when printed on a t-shirt and what a model will look like when wearing a t-shirt of your design. Then I put that virtual image on my website, where customers can view the image and buy a t-shirt.

By linking the print-on-demand platform and my site, I sell my own graphic T-shirts in my online shopping mall. This way, when a customer orders a t-shirt, the service company prints the t-shirt and ships it directly to the customer. This approach makes it easy to start a business and dramatically reduces your initial capital.

Is your online t-shirt business profitable?

Simply put, it is clearly profitable. Hundreds of t-shirt businesses already exist, but some are even generating huge sales.

With beautiful designs and powerful messages, you can start a business and captivate customers looking for a pretty t-shirt.

Before you begin, you need to consider three factors:

· You need to know that there are many competitors.

· In addition, since T-shirt products are products with low added value, the profit margin left for me will also be small.

· It takes time for my business to grow.

· To make money, you need to be strategic with your business. To avoid common hurdles, you need to be creative and cost-conscious to boost your t-shirt sales.

So, how do I get my business to stand out among so many t-shirt competitors and actually generate high sales?

o Create an online shopping mall

A professional e-commerce platform gives my customers confidence to buy with confidence. Start your t-shirt business journey by creating your own online store site.

o Collaborate with print-on-demand services

Now that you've built your online store, it's time to work with a print-on-demand service provider like Wix and other shopping platform.

o Define the target audience for your product

Countless t-shirts are sold online, so why should people buy my t-shirts? The answer to this question is: Because you have defined your target audience and created a design t-shirt they will love, they will buy your t-shirt and not the others.

So, you must first consider which design they will prefer by defining the characteristics of the buyers.

o Create your own standout design

Design your t-shirt to stand out among existing design t-shirts. Reveal your message through a T-shirt, express your story or your personality. A simple yet trendy design can captivate customers.

Of course, I don't have to be an artist to create great designs. Of course, it would be more advantageous if the artist was right, right?

o Choose high-quality products

Design aside, no one likes a t-shirt that doesn't fit well or has a poor-quality printed design image.

If you are using a print-on-demand service, check the quality by purchasing the products you want to sell. Buy several t-shirts with a variety of options. Is it comfortable to wear? Are the colors of the printed image vivid? After washing, how is the condition of the product? didn't it decrease?

o Choose your printing technique

Choose your different printing technology like thermal transfer, silk screen printing, DTG (Direct to garment), print all over, embroidery,

o Manage product lists

If you don't use a print-on-demand service, you'll have to manage your inventory yourself.

We recommend starting with a small set of t-shirts of various sizes. To reduce your risk and avoid investing too much in the first place, limit your t-shirt to one or two colors.

To keep your initial investment capital low, you should consider building orders as they come in. Then, I recommend finding a local print company that has the right printing skills for your type of business.

When you're ready to mass-produce, get a reliable source of high-quality t-shirts. Find a wholesaler who can supply products at reasonable unit prices so that you can provide good products to customers at low prices.

o Use the Mockup Generator

If you've created your design and have also chosen a t-shirt to print your design on, you should consider what it will look like when it's actually printed.

o Get feedback on my designs

The design I've created looks really perfect to me, but will my prospects feel the same way?

Post a mock-up image provided by the company on social media and watch people's reactions. Post your images to our Facebook group and see what people in the community think of your designs.
